Peaceful Reflection

Peaceful Reflection by ~ellekazan on deviantART

It is finally done done done!!! I am so happy! I've been doin this piece for over a month (from oct17 till nov22) The last thing I did was the shading of the face and background. And small details here and there.

Graphite pencils and sticks and mechanical pencils from 5H to 9B, kneaded eraser and normal eraser on plain paper size A4.

Work in progress and all the datailed explanations here

Tenderness WIP3

Tenderness WIP3
I had this piece of paper for a long time now and a while ago I decided to draw something simple and relaxed, without too detailed approach. First pencil outlines and the the darkest parts... At first I used different pencils - 2H to 8B and even tried out that 9B (that turned out to be too oily to work with my other graphites) Then I just took one pencil I had, about 7B (don’t really know) and just started drawing the ear and face. Just one grade on the whole piece.
29×42 cm or 11×16 in vellum paper, graphite pencils and sticks, kneaded eraser, tissues.

Actress

I started this one after I finished "Black Pearl". Only this time I did the outlines with pencil and eraser first. Then I did the darkest parts with coal. After I took big brush and coal powder and started covering the background.
I removed the coal with kneaded eraser to create the pattern for the background. Smallest details were done with black pencil and very well sharpened coal stick(old ones I have)
29×42 cm or 11,7×16,5 in white structured paper, coal, kneaded eraser, coal powder and brush for the background, tissues. WIP1 and WIP2

Living Sunset

Living Sunset

It's a drawing for my mom. I will give it to her on Christmas. It’s already wrapped up and ready so, hush-hush.

Done with pastels (Rembrandts and others) and color pencils (Faber Castells and others) on rough canvas, hairspray, rough eraser.

Peaceful Reflection WIP2

Peaceful Reflection WIP2

Well, a long time has past since my last drawing. I've been so busy. Recently I've started this piece. Same technique as "Classical Beauty" [link] (graphite pencils and sticks and mechanical pencils from 5H to 9B, kneaded and simple erasers, plain paper size A4)
It’s from the same photoshoot of beautiful Alsou as the one before. Why this one. It was my moms idea. She just loved the first one and been asking me to make the one just like it. So I finally decided to do it. And cause my scanner got fixed and now I can scan my wip's.
Now I'm pushing a little contrast for leveling sake between the darkest and lightest patches.
I went to some drawing classes a long time ago. We were drawing shapes in line art and the teacher told me that even the lightest patch on the drawing must have graphite on it. I really like that technique. Sadly that point it totally lost when scanning. But I'm telling anyway. I hope it's useful.

Black Pearl

Black Pearl

Well, I got a pack of 3 coal FaberCastell pencils as a gift. And then found a beautiful picture for this piece. And this is what finally came out. Took... not too long. Not like last drawing.

Size a little bigger than A3. A little creamy toned paper(not white). Coal. And Oh, kneaded eraser for removing all the smudging, lots of smudging

In her eyes...

In her eyes...

Started this artwork about the same time when this photosession came out. Some time at the end of last year. First I've spent a lot of time on drawing out the outlines and positioning all the wrinkles. Then I covered-painted everything and the 2/0 brush for the smallest details at the end.

Classical Beauty

Classical Beauty by ~ellekazan on deviantART

This is a classical style portrait of my favorite singer Alsou. Always wanted to do this one... well, and many others, but this one this time. Using graphite pencils and sticks and mechanical pencils from 5H to 9B, kneaded eraser and normal eraser on plain paper size A4.

Can’t really say how many hours I've spent on this one so far and how mane more it will take, but I certainly hope it will be less next time.

Alsou WIP3

Alsou WIP3

Found an old picture of Alsou in FHM (summer 2001) and decided to draw it. Size A4, plain paper.
Slowly moving on. Face and lower area are sort of done. Still thinking of a background, but maybe there's no need to make one. It will make the drawing heavy, but I was thinking of a lighter look.

Lady in a hat

"Lady in a hat"

This is a portrait of my mother when she was younger. Picture that was used for the reference was always my favourite.
Canvas size A3 and done with coal sticks. Took me about a day. Just needs to be preserved and framed. It was really supposed to be for march 8th but I was so busy and didn't make it. But its all done now and the idea was spinning for a long long time.

Red Dress

"Red Dress"
Sort of Lady in Red. Snapped it with a camera, cause it's not quite dry for a scanner yet. Its a remake of a digital painting of not my own creation( http://charongoyle.deviantart.com/ ). But I liked the colors everything seemed so light

This one is an oil painting. Done just on paper. Real size A5. Took me about one night to make.

P.S. Changed the image. It was scanned, but needed some color fix in photoshop.
